I think this diagram also shows my journey through the BAPP course.
Want to benchmark >>> Module 1, reflect on my professional networks etc, where am I now? Where do I want to be? Use BAPP journal >>>>> Module 2, Plan for prof inquiry. What in my practice do I want to know more about and improve? >>>>> Carry out inquiry. Research literature, interview other practitioners. >>>> Analyse my findings to see what I have learned. >>>> Use my findings to make myself a better professional practitioner!!
The blogger also mentions 3 areas that can benefit within an organisation from 'benchmarking'. I have also tried to think how this fits to my practice.
1. Cultural change - From the literature I could find methods and theories that will benefit myself and my colleagues as I can share this with them during staff training days (Which I often lead parts of). I will also learn from speaking to other professionals and possibly create new connections.
2. Performance Improvement - I will be able to define specific gaps in performance. I may be able to find new ways to help students understand and for their performance also to improve.
3.Human Resources - Training and being able to see what others are doing.

hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI have noted this theory down as I think its a great way of projecting the BAPPs course and the stages we have gone through. I hope to use this in some part of my writing and am glad you have the same out look as i do!
